TransCanada bought the power network for $505M from USGen New England. The 13 plants purchased include the 15-Mile Falls hydro project on the Connecticut river, which features the largest dams on the river: the 191MW Moore dam in Waterford and the 162MW Comerford dam in Barnet.

The Deerfield purchase includes the Harriman and Somerset reservoirs and the 6070ha surrounding the lakes, which are the largest bodies of water in southern Vermont.

TransCanada purchased the dams through its new company TC Hydro NE, formed especially for the sale.
