Doosan Skoda Power also reports that it is further expanding its presence in the Middle East, in particular in Jordan, where it has won the contract to supply a 183 MW turbine for expansion of the Hussein combined cycle plant, also known as Zarqa.

After the expansion, the Hussein plant have an additional 485 MW of installed capacity, Doosan reports.

Chinese company SEPCOIII is EPC supplier for the project.

A 135 MW steam turbine designed and manufactured by Doosan Skoda Power has been successfully operating in the Al Qatrana combined cycle power plant since 2011 and served as an important reference in the competition for this new contract.
