Oba International Service Limited (Oba International) is working at a nero hydro-electric power plant technology that will generate electricity without the use of petrol or diesel. The plant has been test run with foreign and local investors giving nod to the technology. The plant is currently being installed in the naira WestHall Hotels in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state and would be commissioned soon. The plant can power a full community with only one central unit.

The central unit will start from 25 KVA to 50 KVA 0r 250 KVA. It has no exhaust and no emission, and is totally environmental friendly.

One unit of 200 KVA of the design can replicate 300 KVAx50 extensions which gives a potential for the technology to assist government to embark on massive electrification projects in the country.

Oba International Managing Director and Chairman Fredrick Emiaha said that the cost of installation of the hydroelectricity plant, is minimal compared to the large sum that was been budgeted by the federal government to purchase diesel to power generators in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The generating plant as per the manufacturers is the outcome of 25 years of research by the Oba International.

Emiaha said that the hydroelectricity power plant would foster the nation’s determination to meet its millennium development goals in line with its vision of becoming one of the most industrialised nations in the world.

Emiaha continued that the new technology would also solve the perennial energy problem bedeviling the Nigerian economy and help the private sector to grow their businesses efficiently without minding the shortfall in the electricity supply in the country.

Emiaha further said that the federal government granted Oba International four patented certificates including the one under which the hydroelectricity power plant was invented and perfected.

Emiaha said “We have invented four technologies, all patented. The hydroelectricity power plant which uses water instead of petrol or diesel is the first of its kind in the African continent. The two technologies (Nero Hydro Electric plant and Avero Air Compressor Power) have the capacity to generate 50-5000KVA. Our alternators are specially designed for the use of this technology. While the regular feature of alternators run on 1,500 revolution per minute (RPM), our technology uses 600 RPM that makes our invention difficult to copy by anyone else.”

Oba International has taken positive steps in finding a lasting solution to the nation’s power problem through the invention of hydroelectricity power plants which, if embraced by the 36 states government, would greatly enhance industrialization in the country, Emiaha said.

The technology has the federal government patent number of 16552.

The Nigerian government has already decided to power the FCT with generators at an estimated cost of NGN16 billion.

The 2009 budget has set aside NGN2 billion for generators for the presidency, national assembly, ministries, departments and agencies.
