BP's Russian joint venture TNK-BP is signing three-year gas supply agreements with its customers, according to Interfax-AGI. Power generation companies and construction firms are among the main consumers of gas supplied by the company.

The publication said that according to the company, the volume of gas supplies under these contracts between 2008 and 2010 is expected to amount to approximately 300 million cubic meters, approximately 20% of TNK-BP’s sales portfolio.

Interfax-AGI cited Alexander Berezikov, vice president of marketing, supply and trading at TNK-BP, as saying that the firm has received Gazprom’s guarantee that it will transport the gas to be supplied, a key requirement for the finalization of the supply contracts. The gas to be supplied will be produced by Rospan and TNK-BP subsidiaries in Nyagan.

TNK-BP is also reportedly interested in working with Gazprom subsidiary Tomsktransgaz to increase the capacity of the Parabel-Kuzbass pipeline.
