GE has selected Trilliant's Smart Grid Communications Platform to be a part of its Grid IQTM Solutions as a service offerings for the public power industry.

Trilliant said public power utilities are exploring and considering smart grid investments to enhance operational efficiency, improve reliability and increase customer engagement.

Trilliant Communication Platform offers companies with the flexibility to phase in their smart grid deployments to meet their needs.

According to Trilliant, utilities can select which smart grid capabilities, smart distribution, smart metering, or smart consumer, they want to deploy first.

GE’s Digital Energy business general manager-software solutions Mike Carlson said, "Our end-to-end solutions, combined with the Trilliant Platform, provide our public power customers with a powerful combination to efficiently and effectively achieve their smart grid goals."

Trilliant CMO Rob Conant said the company has partnered with GE to deliver new smart grid solutions.
