ETSA Utilities has dispatched additional crews to restore electricity supplies after severe and gale force winds hit South Australia.

The affected areas were Arno Bay, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Macclesfield, Kooyonga West Beach, Henley Beach, Reynella, Marlborough, Tea Tree Gully, Para Hills, Sellicks Beach, Camden Park, Seaton, Plympton, Surrey Downs, Lockleys, Brooklyn Park and Beachport.

ETSA Utilities has responded by more than doubling its available crews in metropolitan Adelaide and dispatching additional support staff to scope affected areas. The widespread nature of the interruptions – involving up to 15,000 customers – has largely been caused by damaging wind gusts and tree limbs on power lines.
