BioGold Fuels has licensed a proprietary separation process technology from Gemini Environmental that enables the renewable fuel firm to process solid waste and separate organic from inorganic municipal waste, for their low cost, high output manufacture of biodiesel fuel, for the $93 billion per year US market.

BioGold said that the formula efficiently separates municipal solid waste into organic and inorganic products.

The organic waste is used as raw material for fuels such as biodiesel, which enables the company to reduce its cost of goods sold by up to 60% of the sale price of its biodiesel. The inorganic waste, such as glass and metal, can be sold in other markets and therefore becomes yet another income stream for BioGold.

Steve Racoosin, CEO of BioGold, said: By utilizing materials traditionally disposed of in landfills as the raw materials or feedstock of our biodiesel fuel, we have a distinct competitive advantage over other processes that typically must pay for their feedstocks.
