Rolls-Royce has won a contract to supply two cogeneration units to the Olivetti Multiservices’ industrial area of Ivrea, Turin. The Italian company supplies energy services to the industrial site. The complete E8 million project includes cogeneration units, steam boilers, a hot water district heating network, medium voltage station and distribution switchgear and auxiliary items. At its heart are the two Rolls-Royce Bergen KVGS-16G3 reciprocating gas engines that will provide power, steam and hot water, with the capability to feel surplus power to the Italian national grid. The UK company will design, supply install and commission the units which are due to enter service later this year.
