Intergraph® Process, Power & Marine Solutions Improves Plant Information Modeling with Fennovoima Finland

Fennovoima, an energy coalition founded by a group of Finnish power and energy companies, has purchased Intergraph® Process, Power & Marine solutions to build and maintain a centralized engineering database for a nuclear plant project. The Intergraph solutions include SmartPlant® Foundation, SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators, SmartPlant P&ID, Intergraph Smart® Data Validator and Intergraph Smart 3D.

Fennovoima currently has a plant supply contract for Hanhikivi 1, a new nuclear plant to be built in northern Finland with a subsidiary of JSC Rosatom Energy International, RAOS Project. The Intergraph PP&M solutions will be used during the planning, procurement, building and maintenance of Hanhikivi 1.

The data-centric nature of the solutions were key to Fennovoima’s decision to choose Intergraph PP&M software. In addition, the integration capability between engineering and design as well as the state-of-the-art 3D and P&ID software convinced Fennovoima to select Intergraph solutions for the project.

Commenting on the decision to choose Intergraph Process, Power & Marine solutions for the Hanhikivi 1 Project, Marko Juslin, Fennvoima’s information management manager said, "We expect that the acquisition of the Intergraph software enables us to implement Plant Information Modeling as sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), offering us the capability to manage all engineering data throughout the project in one centralized location, while further managing and developing the plant during the operational phase in the future."

Mattias Stenberg, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, "The Fennovoima deal shows how our data-centric solutions continue to deliver competitive advantage to the key companies in the power and nuclear industries."

Intergraph SmartPlant Enterprise offers a powerful portfolio of industry-leading, best-in-class design and data management solutions, enabling companies in the process, power and marine industries to capture integrated engineering knowledge at the enterprise level for the competitive advantage needed in today’s and tomorrow’s market. SmartPlant Enterprise’s integrated suite of solutions enable proven productivity gains, improving engineering efficiency by up to 30 percent.
