Hamon 18-cell cooling tower ordered for one of the largest polymer facilities worldwide

Thanks to our technology, Hamon has been selected by Linde GmbH for the design, manufacturing and delivery of a 18 cell – cooling tower for Amur Gas Chemical Complex (Amur CGG), one of the largest polymer facilities worldwide to be constructed by Russia’s largest integrated petrochemical company Sibur in partnership with Chinese Sinopec. The induced draft cooling tower will be made of FRP. Its fully automatic louver system will allow a continuous operation during extreme low ambient temperature (-52 deg C).

The comprehensive and pragmatic approach by Hamon and the very high level of technical exchanges during the tendering stage with Linde GmbH resulted in state of the art and proven technological solutions for the benefit of our client.

The Amur GCC, located in Russia, will have a designed capacity of 2.3 million metric tons/year polyethylene and 400,000 tons/year polypropylene. The GCC will be selling most of its products to the Asian market.

Linde has been entrusted with the core process equipment for cryogenic recovery of helium and other petrochemical substances from gas.  Novel engineering solutions for the construction will also help reduce the future plant’s environmental footprint.

Construction commenced in August 2020 and the plant is expected to be operational in 2024-2025.
