TENEX: NPP Decommissioning – the Issue of the Russian-Japanese Dialogue

The program of the Forum allowed the delegation to get acquainted with the results already achieved in post-accident decommissioning and decontamination, and the technical solutions being offered by Japanese and foreign companies, and also to present Russian experience and technologies applicable to the decommissioning of Fukushima Daiichi NPP
which confirms that the Japanese side is open to cooperation with the international community in this field.

The Russian delegation also took part in the International Workshop on Decommissioning of Nuclear Power Plants dedicated to planned D&D of Japanese NPPs, and gave a presentation on the projects for the decommissioning of nuclear energy facilities implemented in Russia.

As part of the visit, meetings with key Japanese partners were held in order to discuss the current status of joint projects.
