Special attention was paid to the benefits of the development of a bicomponent nuclear power system, opportunities of SNF conversion products recycling within the NFC, and customer demands for RAW management services.

Vladimir Asmolov (Member of the Working Group of International Advisors of the IAEA Director General), Luc Van Den Durpel (Managing Director at Nuclear-21), Mikhail Skupov (SC VNIINM Deputy Director General), Jean-Yves Blanc (CEA Nuclear Energy Division, Head of Department of International collaborations), Dmitry Kolupaev (Chief Engineer at FSUE PA “Mayak”), Peter Breitenstein (Vice President for Central Europe & Nordic Countries at ORANO), Attila Aszódi (State Secretary for the maintenance of the capacity of the Paks NPP of the Government of Hungary) and Mikhail Baryshnikov (Head of Department of Innovative Products at TENEX) made their presentations.

The results of the round table discussion traditionally co-moderated by the President of TENAM Corp. (TENEX subsidiary in the USA) Mr. Fletcher Newton were summed up by ROSATOM’s Director of NFC and NPP Life Cycle Vladislav Korogodin. He thanked the participants for their outstanding substantive presentations, and the constructive dialog.

“This year, the main theme of the round table is one of the most relevant issues, the one that in many aspects defines the future of the atomic energy in the context of sustainable development on the global scale. It is the issue of SNF and RAW management. Its solution is only possible within the framework of a global international partnership,” highlighted Mr. Korogodin.
