Solar Power, Inc. (Solar Power) and Solar Power Partners, Inc. (SPP) and Marshall Medical Center (Marshall), have announced the completion of a new 669 kW DC photovoltaic (PV) solar electric system to provide power to Marshall located in Cameron Park, California. Solar Power has provided the design, engineering and construction services for the solar PV project. In addition to the design and construction of the arrays, Solar Power also manufactured the 3,344 PV modules for the project.
The system uses solar modules sitting atop elevated structures that not only place the arrays in direct sunlight, but also provide shading to the cars beneath.
Solar Power has brought SPP into the Marshall solar installation project as the financing partner to facilitate a power purchase agreement (PPA) between SPP and Marshall. As per the PPA, Marshall did not incur any out-of-pocket expenses, which supported its commitment to focusing resources on patient care.
The PV system’s elevated arrays create a visually appealing system, which complements the appearance of the outpatient medical facility and its natural hilltop location. The structures are consistent with the building’s architecture and reflect Marshall’s commitment to care as well as to being as environmentally sensitive as possible.
