The upgrade will consist of the installation of a new, latest-generation 25MW gas compression unit, and a series of system upgrade operations including station piping modifications, installation of new boilers and filters, gas recovery upgrade, replacement of transformers and electricity generators, new warehousing, and moving of vents.
Snam Rete gas said that the design criteria for the project are based on Italian and international legislation in this area, as well as on the company’s consolidated experience in the sector, and are aimed at achieving a high degree of safety, system reliability and operational efficiency.
The Malborghetto station is located in Italy’s National Pipeline Network. It reportedly ensures the flow of gas in the transmission network and it is controlled remotely by the Dispatching Centre, which is operational 24 hours a day.
