REpower UK Ltd. (REpower) has installed and completed testing at the Bicker Fen wind farm in Lincolnshire, UK. The company has handed over the 13 MM82 wind turbines to client EDF Energy Renewables (EDF). The wind farm is part of a EUR92 million ($121 million) order between ESF and REpower for the manufacturing and installation of three wind farms, two in the UK and one in France.

The handover of the 26 MW wind farm takes the number of REpower turbines in operation for EDF in the UK to 58.

EDF is a joint venture between EDF Energy and EDF Energy Nouvelles.

Bicker Fen wind farm will produce enough power for around 16,500 homes, and connects straight to a generator in the nearby town of Boston.

Henning von Barsewisch, managing director of REpower, said, The Bicker Fen project is one of two we have recently installed for EDF in the North of England. It has been managed closely by our Peterborough service center which has been working to ensure that the site is fully operational in scheduled time.

The site is expected to be very successful due to the open moorland in Lincolnshire which allows our MM82 product to thrive in an exposed landscape with strong winds.
