Pure Energy Visions Corporation (PEV) will be launching a new line of C and D size rechargeable alkaline batteries in the first quarter of 2009. These rechargeable alkaline batteries deliver high performance advantages, including increased capacity and longer charge retention compared to C and D size rechargeable NiMH and NiCd batteries. These C and D size batteries have 3200 mAh and 8000 mAh capacities respectively as compared to capacities ranging from 2500-2900 mAh for NiMH batteries.
The rechargeable alkaline C and D size batteries are also ready-to-use out of the package and have a 7 year shelf life – 40 times longer than NiMH C and D size batteries.
These performance advantages will make rechargeable alkaline C and D size batteries the ideal choice for several consumer products including a variety of audio products, toys and flashlights. Flashlights in particular will benefit from the use of rechargeable alkaline batteries as the rapid shelf-discharge properties of NiCd and NiMH batteries are a source of frustration for consumers.
In addition to sales through retail channels, Pure Energy is pursuing a number of industrial and original equipment manufacturers (OEM) opportunities for the these new products.
PEV’s C and D size batteries will be sold with a new Family Charger capable of recharging C, D, AA and AAA size batteries. Like all of PEV’s new chargers, the Family Charger will be dual-chemistry, for recharging both Rechargeable Alkaline and NiMH batteries.
The company’s rechargeable alkaline batteries:
The rechargeable alkaline batteries are the only rechargeable batteries that can be used in any application that uses throw-away alkaline batteries. These can be recharged hundreds of times leading to cost savings for consumers and less greenhouse gas emissions and waste entering landfill compared to throw-away alkaline batteries. These batteries do not contain heavy metals such as cadmium or mercury and offer several performance and cost advantages in a number of original equipment manufacturers products over other rechargeable batteries including an industry leading 7 year shelf life – 40 times longer than regular rechargeable NiMH batteries.
