Earlier MSCI used either liquefied petroleum gas or bunker fuel as its source of energy.
Thailand makes use of its natural gas resource to power its ceramic facilities.
“We expect to have converted our generating facility by November, when we will manifest that we will use renewable energy as a source not just because it is economical, but also good for the environment,” MSCI Vice President Jiraphat Oebchokchai said.
“The total investment will be more than P300 million for the 45 MW,” Oebchokchai added.
“Cost actually makes us competitive because now the Philippine energy cost is higher than that of Thailand,” said Oebchokchai.
