The agreement predicts 250 MW of power supply to the Himachal annually at bus bar cost. The thermal power plant at 80% Plant load factor would generate 3,504 million units annually. The project is valued at around INR23.45 billion. The facility is situated at the bank of Damodar River and Coal mine is within a radius of about 30 km. The power station is expected to be finished in four years.

The power generated from the thermal power plant would be added to the West Bengal State Grid and PGCIL Grid at Kanyapur and Maithon respectively through 220 kV two single circuit and one double circuit transmission lines.
