Under this project, Hawaii American Water will replace approximately one-quarter mile of pressurized pipeline, which conveys wastewater to Hawaii American Water’s East Honolulu wastewater treatment plant.

The company expects to complete the project construction, which will occur along Kalanianaole Highway and a portion of Lunalilo Home Road, by the end of the year.

The development of the project is expected to improve the sewer system of the region by reducing the potential for sewage spills, thereby protecting human health and environment for years to come.

Hawaii American Water manager Lee Mansfield said that installing a new sewer main at this location is part of an ongoing process of improving the infrastructure and allowing Hawaii American Water to continue to provide its high-level service.
