Germany’s federal network agency has awarded just over 700 MW of onshore wind capacity in the country’s latest auction.

The BNetzA has awarded 709 MW of grid capacity to 83 onshore wind farms in Germany at an average support price of €47.30/MWh.

In total, 132 bids were placed for projects with a total combined capacity of 989 MW in the December 2017 auction. The average support price achieved is higher than the average rate of €38/MWh achieved in the country’s previous wind tender.

Some 19 of the winning projects are community wind farms, BNetzA said. Winning project developers include ABO Wind, Juwi, PNE Wind and BayWa r.e.
