The partnership expands the Fat Spaniel renewable energy management ecosystem and provides customers with hardware products that are enabled by Fat Spaniel’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform.

“As part of our efforts to drive open, innovative solutions for renewable energy management, we have continued to expand relationships with other solution providers that can help us evolve the technology and broaden market appeal,” said Matthew Powell, chief executive officer of Fat Spaniel. “Engenuity has established its expertise in the renewable energy industry and our companies work together very effectively. It is a natural step for us to complement each other’s strengths so that we can each do what we do best.”

“The Engenuity-Fat Spaniel partnership brings more resources to the renewable energy management challenge and will ultimately result in a broader range of choices for the industry,” said Tracy Markie, president of Engenuity. “In the short term, we can help each take advantage of the growing global market for energy management solutions, and in the long term we can contribute to an expanded ecosystem that ultimately improves the overall health of the industry.”

Engenuity and Fat Spaniel will collaboratively sell and support solutions based on Engenuity hardware and Fat Spaniel software and services. Fat Spaniel firmware will be licensed to Engenuity and embedded in the Engenuity platforms to facilitate integration with the Fat Spaniel services platform. Under the terms of the agreement, Engenuity will eventually offer Fat Spaniel compatible monitoring and communications equipment including communications gateways or data loggers, revenue-grade power meters, current transducers (CTs), environmental sensors, and a broad range of network communications hardware.
