Spanish Endesa has acquired a wind farm south of Naples in the municipality of Durazzano, in the province of Benevento with an installed capacity of 14 MW for a capital investment of €16.6 million.

The acquisition forms part of an agreement with Gamesa to include 200 MW of installed capacity from wind farms in Italy in the generation business.

The Montecute wind farm, which is due to be handed over in the second half of the year and which has an installed capacity of 42 MW, is also included in the agreement signed with Gamesa and Endesa Europa has also acquired the Lardino wind farm as part of a framework agreement.

Endesa plans to install nearly 400 MW of wind energy in Italy through to 2009.
