The main plays in the exploration permit 466 area are the gentle anticlines and fault blocks plus the potential for stratigraphic traps in the M. australis sands within the Muderong hale.

The company initially plans to utilize new drilling technology and exploration methods to increase the oil recoveries of shallow oil discoveries made by previous explorers in the permit area called the Mardie oilfield area. Some of the drilling concepts being evaluated are the drilling of shallow horizontal wells to enhance oil productivity and avoiding the strong water aquifer of the Yarraloola Conglomerate directly beneath the Mardie Greensand reservoir objective. Shallow horizontal drilling techniques used in the mining and coal seam industries are considered applicable in the Mardie oilfield area. These shallow wells will need to commence drilling at a high angle and then drill horizontally in the reservoir objective.
