This order is expected to help EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF-EN) to take a step forward with its plans to build the 67.5MW wind farm in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Construction is due to be completed by the end of 2009. The electricity generated will supply several Wal-Mart stores under a power purchase agreement that has already been agreed upon.

enXco, EDF-EN’s US subsidiary, will provide supervision of the construction activities and will also oversee the operation and maintenance of the project. This order with a new turbine supplier fits into the group’s strategy of diversifying its purchases.
