The forest carbon sink will be Kyoto compliant and established in accordance with draft CPRS legislation.
Andrew Grant, chief executive officer of CO2 Group said that the agreement with ACTEW provided a good example for other major companies because ACTEW is committed to offsetting approximately 900,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over a 30 year period.
ACTEW joins other CO2 Group partners including Woodside Energy, Eraring Energy, INPEX Browse, Origin Energy, Qantas Airways, Macquarie Bank, Wannon Water Corporation, City of Sydney, Big Day Out and the Victorian Government.
