Spanish energy regulator the CNE is expected to relax tough assets stripping conditions it imposed on Eon as a condition of approving the takeover of national energy champion Endesa.

The €25 billion deal was approved, but with 19 conditions, a situation which has invoked the ire of the European Commission.

CNE is expected to wait until the autumn to make the move, according to local media reports.
