Under the engineering, procurement and construction contract, the joint venture will be responsible for building a concrete dam, an underground power plant with 510MW of installed capacity, 9km of tunnels, and 60km of roads accessing the site.

Peru’s KALLPA Generacion commissioned this initiative and the project works are expected to take four years, with preliminary activities to be started this year.

Including the Cerro del Aguila project, Astaldi is now carrying out six hydroelectric projects in Latin America.
