In a statement the company said the decision came given it is very unlikely that Areva could obtain the majority of shares and the share price level reached.

Instead the group has concluded a cooperation agreement with Suzlon which will see it maintain its stake in REpower and will become the preferred supplier of Suzlon in the field of electricity transmission and distribution.
