The construction work is expected to be completed during the second half of 2010. The investment will be funded through project financing.

“Authorisation for the construction of the Castellaneta photovoltaic plant – commented Giulio Antonello, chief executive officer of Alerion Clean Power – is part of the industrial growth process that Alerion has developed in recent years and it makes us particularly proud because it is the outcome of the company’s continuing capacity to achieve important results from its project pipeline.”

“When the plant reaches full capacity – continued Antonello – it will generate approximately 23 MW of installed photovoltaic power capacity, a leading position at domestic level, and an important boost towards the target in the Industrial Plan which involves reaching 50 MW in the photovoltaic sector.”

With the Castellaneta plant, the plants currently operating and being constructed by the Alerion Group will achieve a consolidated installed power capacity of around 204 MW from wind farms, 23 MW from photovoltaic plants and 5 MW from the biomass sector.
