Swiss-Swedish engineering firm ABB has unveiled new HVDC transmission technology that can deliver up to 1,000 MW of power via underground or underwater cables.
The system operates at 300 kV, a threefold increase from previous versions, made possible by innovations in cable technology and power semiconductors, ABB says.
