HALCROW GROUP OF THE UK HAS advised on sedimentation problems worldwide. Last year it concluded a study into the sedimentation of UK reservoirs for the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs ( DEFRA ). The report, which is now on the DEFRA website, covered a
variety of issues including;
•Rates of sedimentation.
•Sediment release after dam failure.
•Methods of reducing sediment inflow.
•Removal of sediment deposits.
