Massey Ferguson has entered into a stategic partnership with Northern Ireland company AJ Power encompassing the development, production and distribution of diesel-powered generating sets to be supplied worldwide under Massey Ferguson’s Power Series brand.

At the heart of the generating sets now being manufactured by AJ Power are Sisu Diesel’s latest three-, four- and six-cylinder constant speed engines, giving power outputs from 15 kVA to 600 kVA 50 Hz at 1500 rpm. The total MF range comprises MF930 12 to 33kVA units powered by Deutz engines, MF950 36 to 275kVA powered by Sisu engines and MF970 300 to 600kVA powered by Scania engines. AJ Power will continue to market its Series 3, 5 and 7 ranges currently fitted with Scania, Lister Petter and Deutz engines.

The choice of Sisu engines as the principal power source for the new generation Power Series builds on AJ Power’s previous long experience of utilising engines from Sisu Diesel, a sister company to Massey Ferguson within the AGCO Corporation. Sisu engines have also been used successfully for the past 20 years in Massey Ferguson tractors.

Initially, around 20 different Power Series models will be offered by Massey Ferguson through its worldwide dealer network. Suitable for back-up or principal power source applications, all are available in open or enclosed configuration, the latter being housed within a low noise, sound-attenuated, corrosion-resistant enclosure giving full protection against the weather. All enclosed units are equipped with wide lockable doors, external radiator fill and an internal exhaust system.

Open, or non-enclosed, Power Series generating sets come mounted on a heavy-duty frame to allow positioning and fixing on any sound, level surface within or outside a building or beneath a protective roof.

Irrespective of model type, all generating sets come ready-to-run equipped with ‘iLogic’ digital control system. Key standard features include integral vibration-isolation mountings, heavy-duty intake air filtration, a Newage Stamford alternator with severe-environment insulation, a main circuit breaker with enhanced cable access, an inhibited cooling system and an integral fuel tank.
